Was watching the 308 video a moment ago and it got me thinking of engine sounds. If you limit it to major motion pictures (i.e. - no !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ), what is the best use of automotive sounds in a movie?
I will nominate the engine noise from the Countach used in the opening scene of the original Cannonball Run.

In 1980, I was sitting in the theater with my dad when that lead Cannonball clip woke up the auto enthusiast in me, and gave my father what he had been waiting 11 years for.

I feel like a lot of present movies have lost the touch but for some reason this scene from Jack Reacher really resonates.

Because there's no music - just pure motor sounds. Good choice sir.

That would have to be at the beginning of the Bullitt chase scene, when the Dodge Charger lights the tires up the hill.

C'etait Un Rendez Vous, Rendzvous In Paris. The sound was added in after and it syncs up almost perfectly.
